Song: "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder
Friday, March 13th
I can't believe I've been in this country for a whole month now. I'm not sure how to explain the feeling that I have when I think about Australia. It's somewhere between never wanting to leave and wanting to leave immediately to see everyone I know across the globe. Moving to Australia for these few months has been amazing, but it's certainly a challenge to leave everyone you've ever known and just start over. However, the starting over has been incredibly entertaining thus far. :)
I had class in the morning, which was manageable, and then afterward I decided to go to the University Pool Party. It was rather lame, but I swam a little and bought a sausage from the W.A.N.G. club (We All Need Grub). I hung out at the gym a little longer and then went back to my apartment. It was empty for the first time since I can't remember when. Dimitra was out doing homework and Sean, Andy and Bethany were all at the Blue Mountains.
I realized I hadn't seen John in awhile and he now has a cell phone, so I asked if he wanted to come over. We watched this documentary on the beauty of the human body and then watched the Schlocky Horror Picture Show-ing of The Cold (or The Game). The Schlocky Horror Picture Show shows a horror movie from so long ago that it's just funny instead of being horrifying. My favorite part was when it looked like someone was going to be attacked and let out a piercing scream, but instead some guy just said "ouch." It was fun, but I had to get up early, so we never actually finished the movie. Seriously though, old horror movies are incredibly entertaining for their terrible acting and worse effects. John and I decided they should make more movies like this.
I had to sleep because Hilde and I were getting up early for the Sound Relief concert in Sydney. More on that next post!
