Song: "Talk Like That" by The Presets
February 28th
I'm having a hard time remembering what I did this morning because it was terribly uneventful. I know that I got home late the night before, and I'm sure I slept immediately afterward. Oh yeah, I put my iPod on to go to sleep around 4am and it was completely unnecessary because I was out in three songs. "Razor" by Foo Fighters, "Bruises" by Chairlift, "Keep Breathing" by Ingrid Michaelson, then pure, beautiful sleep. I awoke startled to some Kelly Clarkson on the iPod at about 6am, threw my headphones off and slept some more. I was conscious again by 11am. I probably wrote some blog entries for a bit, and then felt the need to take a small nap.
Becca let me know that she was having people over to her place in the evening, so that was cool. I went over there and watched the end of 50 First Dates with Hilde and Vilde, two awesome girls from Norway. I've been meeting a lot of really fun people from Scandinavia lately.
The group at Becca's played a few rousing games of Uno, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I left early though because I had already made plans to go this indie/alternative music club called Spectrum in Sydney. I was even on the guest list. I felt incredibly cool. The club was different than a lot of places we've been to before around Sydney. For one, it was a lot smaller. Probably a quarter of the size of the smallest bar or club we've visited. Secondly, they played music that I played when I had my radio show back at WMUC. Bloc Party, The Rapture, Ladyhawke and The Strokes were a few I remember. They also played this catchy song by The Presets (I found this out when I got home) and I borrowed lyrics from it for the title of this post. Another excellent thing about traveling into Sydney on Friday and Saturday nights is that the bus to get home runs longer, until about 3am vs. midnight. This is much cheaper than splitting a cab. After catching the 1am bus back and getting home, I went straight to sleep.
